After-School Tutoring

Project Success provides after school tutoring at all Decatur public elementary and middle schools. Certified teachers and teaching assistants tutor students in core subject areas from October to May. Students must be referred for academic assistance at tutoring sessions by their classroom teachers. This service is free to all students!

We have provided tutoring services to Decatur students for the past 10 years.  Project Success After School Tutoring has proven to be very effective in helping struggling students achieve in the areas of math and reading.  A majority of students who participate regularly in the tutoring meet or exceed the average growth in total math and reading on national tests. Last year over 70% of the 1100 students who participated improved and/or maintained their grades.
